Fiona Wood’s first novel, Six Impossible Things was shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year, Older Readers. Her next three books, Wildlife and Cloudwish, and Take Three Girls, co-written with Cath Crowley and Simmone Howell, won the CBCA award and were shortlisted for numerous other awards. Take Three Girls, co-written with Cath Crowley and Simmone Howell, was honoured by the International Youth Library as a White Ravens selection. Fiona’s debut middle fiction title How to Spell Catastrophe is out now. Before writing fiction, Fiona worked as a screenwriter. She has served as an AWGIES judge, an Australia Writers Guild board member and as an ambassador to the Stella Schools Program and the Ardoch Youth Foundation. She lives in Melbourne/Naarm.
